Welcome to the tastiest Air Fryer chicken wings, my fellow Chicken wings lover. You came to the right place. When it comes to making wings, I consider myself a professional. – I have been making chicken wings every weekend since 2001 and since then I perfected our Chicken wings finger licking sauce, because the sauce in chicken wings is the KEY to the taste. Second most important factor is the method of preparation.

I have been baking or broiling wings most of the time in the oven until 2 years ago I started making Instant Pot wings. I have shared my sauce recipe, as well as how to make them fall off the bone and crunchy. Since then, a million people came to my blog to check my Instant Pot chicken wings recipe and they gave it honest 5 star rave reviews.
Today I’m sharing the tastiest air fryer chicken wings with honey buffalo sauce. I recently got an air fryer oven and I’m so glad that one of the very important things to me that it has a window and a light so you can peak at your wings any time you need.
The current air fryer oven that I use is Instant Vortex. The wings come out in 25 minutes from start to finish crispy to perfection. The crispiness seals the chicken wings in entirety, leaving the inside meat juicy tender. Once you have bitten thru the crisp, the juicy meat slides right off the bone in one bite. Yep this is how it should be especially for wingettes, but not that much for the drumettes.
PS: Save this Pinterest-friendly photo. If you don’t fry your chicken wings now, you will easy find it in your saves later. I invite you to join Air Fryer Recipes Group on Facebook for recipe support, tips, inspiration and more recipes from fellow members. Please do share your daily yummy recipes as well.

I am suggesting my own chicken wings sauce recipe (just look how saucy it is!). It is hot, spicy and sweet at once. The great thing that you can control the spiciness and sweetness and basically what goes in your wings sauce. I named the sauce “Sticky and swicy” I have had MANY chicken wings sauces before but this one is always the winner. I mean if a million people agree that this sauce is so good.
It is not complicated to make at all. You make the chicken wings sauce while the wings are being cooked. By the time the wings are out of the oven, the sauce is ready. And by “sticky” I mean finger-licking. OMG, look how delicious and saucy the wings look on the picture below.

If you’re having a Super Bowl party or not these Chicken wings are to die for. You’re welcome!
Ingredients for Air fryer chicken wings:
3-4 pounds chicken wings
salt and pepper to taste
Sauce ingredients:
3/4 Cup Franks Hot Sauce (or you can use hot sauce of your choice)
1/2 Stick of butter
1TBS flour (or corn starch) to thicken
2TBS Molasses
1TBS Brown sugar
1TBS Raw Honey
1tsp Maple Syrup
1tsp Tabasco
1/2 tsp Liquid smoke
1TBS ketchup
1TBS bbq sauce
Paprika – a pinch of (to taste)
Cayenne – a pinch of (to taste)
Note: If you don’t have all the above ingredients – Do not worry. Your wing sauce may not be as “rich”, but try to get the basics – Franks sauce, honey, butter, flour, BBQ sauce
Directions:
Air Fry method – follow the directions of your Air fryer maker. The air fryer that I used is Instant Vortex and the cooking time is 25 minutes at 380°F (approx 193°C)
-
Sprinkle the wings with salt and pepper to taste if desired. Divide the wings onto two cooking trays, leaving space between each piece.
-
Press AirFry, set temperature to 380°F and the time to 25 minutes, then touch START.
-
When the display says “Add Food” insert one cooking tray in the top-most position and one tray in the bottom-most position.
-
When the display indicates “Turn Food” turn the wings over AND switch the cooking trays so that the one that was in the top-most position is now in the bottom-most position, and vice-versa.
-
Wing Sauce: While the wings are cooking, in a small or medium saucepan mix together the following ingredients for the hot sauce. Begin by melting butter over low heat. Once the butter is melted, add flour to it, it helps to thicken the sauce. Work out all the lumps. After flour you then add the remaining ingredients, one at a time. Cook the sauce over the low heat until it caramelizes and is nicely blended into the sauce. It should take about 10 minutes. If the sauce comes out too thick, you can add water ( little at a time) – you do not want the sauce too liquid’y
-
When the AirFry program is complete, toss with the sauce and serve hot.
If you do not have an Air Fryer, you can try Instant Pot Chicken wings or if you have a regular oven with the broiler function, broil them on high 15 minutes on each side on the middle rack. Make sure to take a peak every 5-10 minutes to make sure they do not burn and flip them occasionally.
Chicken wings recipe notes:
This Instant Votrex Air fryer makes 24 large size wings at once (12 per tray) in 25 minutes
Serve Chicken Wings with celery and blue cheese. Sometimes people serve Chicken wings with fresh carrots.
Please also try this Chipotle sauce for dipping.
Do not sauce your wings before cooking or else the wings may have burn skin (because of the sugar in the sauce)
