The Difference Between Potato Skins and Potato Slices
One of the most popular ways to prepare potatoes is to either make potato skins or potato slices. But what's the difference between the two? Let's take a closer look.
Potato skins are exactly what they sound like—the skin of the potato that has been removed. Once the skin has been taken off, the potato is then usually cut into small pieces and fried until it is crispy. Potato skins are often served as appetizers and are usually topped with cheese, bacon, and sour cream.
Potato slices, on the other hand, are simply thin slices of raw potato that have been air-fried or baked. They are often served as a side dish alongside meat or vegetables. They can also be used in place of french fries. However, they are not as common as potato skins when it comes to appetizers.
Conclusion: Both potato skins and potato slices make for delicious dishes. The main difference between the two is that potato skins are usually served as appetizers while potato slices are often served as a side dish. So whether you're looking for a tasty appetizer or a simple side dish, potatoes should definitely be on your menu!

What tray do you use to put them on? In 1 picture you show a black wire style grill, in another it looks like a solid tray...It doesn't say. Thanks!!

Hi Lynda. I put the chips directly onto the air fryer basket/tray to cook first. Then you load the chips with toppings. You can choose to put them on parchment paper for an easier clean-up.
