Crispy Air Fryer Sweet Potato Chips
I love this recipe for its delicious taste, simplicity, and crispy caramelized edges of sweet potato slices. Although you can add any seasoning of your choice, I kept this recipe pretty simple: seasoned with a small amount of oil and Italian seasoning, and salt if desired.
My kids are obsessed. And most importantly I wanted to keep these delicious Sweet potato chips dog friendly. My pooch approved! He is obsessed with his delicious healthy homemade treat. The crispy chip is way more fun for him rather than regular baked or mashed sweet potato. Everyone is happy. I think this recipe is a win-win for everyone. Kids, dogs, and adults.
Experiment with any flavor and seasoning of your choice. I love Italian seasoning and Roast vegetables and Fries spice blend because it has a great blend of gourmet spices that I love to use for my Air fryer veggies and meats. Also added a few pinches of cinnamon to the finished chips. I served them with homemade Chipotle dipping sauce. Yum!
1 medium or large sweet potato
1 Tablespoon oil. I use avocado oil.
¼ teaspoon salt, or to taste.
½ Teaspoon seasoning of choice, if desired. I used Roast Vegetables and Fries spice blend.
- Rinse and scrub sweet potato. Leave the skin on (optional)
- Thinly slice sweet potato. I used my sharp Victorinox knife. You can also use a mandoline slicer.
- In a medium bowl, add potato slices, oil, and salt and mix well to combine. I love to use this OXO food brush for easy oil on brushing.
- Preheat air fryer to 375F/190C for 2-3 minutes.
- Arrange the potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket/tray. I used my Cuisinart air fryer for this recipe. I was able to fit all slices from the large sweet potato at once. See pic below. If the potato slices do not all fit at once, cook in batches.
- Air fry mode 375F/190C for 10 minutes, flipping halfway. Or until the desired crispy edges and caramelized crust
- Serve immediately while the potato chips are extra crispy. Sprinkle on some cinnamon, if desired
- Dip in homemade Chipotle sauce or Copycat Chick-Fil-A Sauce. Yum!
I used my Cuisinart air fryer oven for this recipe.

Depending on their thickness, Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping them a couple of times until they are crispy and caramelized to your liking.
