Air Fryer Sausage and Potatoes is a fantastic dish that is quick, easy, and delicious. Made with smoked sausage (my favorite), potatoes, and onions - my whole family loves it!
The air fryer cooks the sausage and potatoes perfectly, and the result is a juicy, flavorful meal. I love how potatoes turn crispy skins with fluffy middle, and the sausage gets perfectly charred and caramelized. The dish is ready in under 10 minutes! The best part about air fryer sausage and potatoes is that it is so versatile. You can add different spices or herbs to the dish, or change up the vegetables. I like to add a little bit of garlic and onion to mine, but you can really use any combination of spices that you like. The possibilities are endless! - 1 Tablespoon olive oil (or avocado oil)
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped (optional)

- Seasoning
- Sausage, cut into cubes or slices, approximately ½ inch thick. The one I used for this recipe is a fully cooked smoked Polish kielbasa.

- Cut potatoes and onions, season with oil, salt and pepper to taste, garlic powder, and your choice of other seasonings.
- Lay potatoes with onions in the air fryer basket or tray. Cook for 5 minutes
- Flip potatoes and onions for even cooking, and add in the kielbasa. Proceed to cook for another 10 minutes, flipping the sausage halfway through.
- Allow time for food to cool down, then serve, and enjoy!
Tips for Making a Delicious Family Meal
- Using a Different Type of Sausage: For this recipe, I used a fully cooked sausage, however, if you would like to test out other sausages for your own meal, be sure to adjust cooking times to have fully cooked meat.
- Line Air Fryer Tray or Basket with Tin Foil (or Air fryer parchment paper): If you are like me, washing dishes and cleaning up dinner mess is your least favorite thing to do. I recommend lining the air fryer with tin foil, allowing more time to spend with your family, and less time stressing about the mess.
- Soak potatoes in water and pat potatoes dry: soaking potatoes in cool water for at least 10 minutes helps to rid of potato starch; then dab the potatoes with a paper towel to dry them before air frying. This will allow them to get crispier without the extra moisture added in.
How to Serve Air Fryer Sausage and Potatoes?
This meal would pair perfectly with a salad, such as Caesar or house salad. For other sides, I will suggest adding a vegetable for balance, such as asparagus, broccoli, crispy brussels sprouts, green beans, and other greens!
Don’t be afraid to personalize! You can use any of your favorite seasonings with this recipe to add your own twist and have your family smiling from ear to ear.
This air fryer recipe is perfect for a family night in, or for a quick meal on busy days. With little prep and short cooking time, this recipe is perfect for moms and dads who are looking for less time in the kitchen and more time at the dinner table. I hope this recipe inspires you to value quick and delicious meals and jump outside your comfort zone with your air fryer.

hi just got a small 2 ltr air fryer , and am rearing to go, luv the sound of sausage and potatoes, but i need to ask, i have a small basket with a little trivet inside, so, do i cook with or without trivet, thanks Ginny
Irina
HI Ginny, from the sound of that I would say to cook directly in the basket. I'm not sure what kind of trivet and it may be used for other things

I seasoned mine with garlic powder, salt, pepper and Lipton Onion soup mix, tossed the seasoning together and added veggie oil and mixed together, chopped up fresh rope sausage, potatoes and onions and air fried for about 40 minutes, stirring in between. Super yummy!!
Irina
Delicious! I love to mix potatoes with Lipton onion soup mix too. Super yum
