Air Fryer Cauliflower Steaks
Cauliflower steaks are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional meat-based dishes. And when cooked in an air fryer, they are even better!
Air fryers work by circulating hot air around the food, causing it to cook quickly and evenly. This method of cooking is ideal for cauliflower steaks, as it helps to prevent them from drying out. Additionally, an air fryer can help to give the cauliflower steaks a nice crispy exterior.
To make air-fried cauliflower steaks, simply cut a head of cauliflower into two or three thick slices, season with oil and your favorite spices, and place in the air fryer. Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve them with homemade Chipotle Mayo and the delicious combo will knock your socks off.
Ingredients
- A medium Cauliflower head
- Salt as per taste
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder (You can also use garlic paste instead of powder)
- Turmeric powder (¼ tsp)
- Onion powder (1 tbsp)
- Cumin Powder (½ tsp)
- Oil (4tbsp)
Instructions
Cut cauliflower head into two or three 1-inch thick slices. (Pictures 1 and 2).
Save the remaining cauliflower for later.

Mix all seasoning ingredients with oil. They will become a paste-like consistency. Apply the paste to the cauliflower with the help of a brush. I used my OXO food-basting brush for this. (Picture 3)
Apply the paste to both sides.
Preheat the air fryer to 375F/190C for 5 minutes.
Carefully place cauliflower into an air fryer basket/tray, and cook for 12-14 minutes, flipping halfway. (Picture 4)
Cauliflower Seasoning Variation
You can make variations with seasoning. Try to use different spices such as paprika powder, lemon juice, a pinch of citric acid, coriander powder, or tamarind pulp. Use your favorite spices that you like.
