6 large peeled garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1 Tablespoon olive oil (or avocado oil)
Seasoning of choice (optional). I use Roast vegetables and fries spice blend. Or Wellsley farms organic veggie blend.
1. Slice your garlic chips thin (about 1 mm in thickness). I have easily sliced the garlic with the knife. Or you can use a garlic slicer.
2. Toss garlic slices in oil and seasoning and gently mix them with a food silicone brush until they are evenly coated in oil.
3. Lay garlic slices on the air fryer tray.
4. Airfry mode at 350F (170C) for 3 minutes. Open the air fryer and flip each garlic slice onto the other side and cook for an additional 3 minutes. The time could be more or less, depending on your air fryer. The garlic chips must be golden in color but not overly brownish or burned. Please pay attention, it takes only a few seconds to go from golden to brownish and then to burn. So 3 minutes on each side should be a good time.
5. Your garlic chips are done. You can start enjoying them immediately and add them to your meats and vegetables.
Storing garlic chips is very easy. In an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat when ready to use warm.
The second option, which is much preferred and loved by me. I air dry them, crush them and store them in a jar at room temperature in my spice cabinet.
For this method, once you cook your garlic slices, let them lay on the paper towel or kitchen towel for 24-48 hours uncovered. They are going to get harder. Once they are hard and extra crunchy, I cover them with a layer of paper towel or kitchen towel and then I smash them with the hammer. Also, a good idea will be to roll them with the dough roller.
Once the garlic bits achieve the desired shape, transfer them into the glass spice jar and they are good to use for up to 2 months.
Every time you open the jar, you smell the wonderful aroma of the roasted garlic. Delicious!
DIY Air Fryer Roasted garlic chips and crushed garlic
Air Fryer roasted dried garlic chips are the simplest way to enhance
flavor without the hassle of peeling and chopping fresh garlic. I love
to add roasted garlic on many dishes and meats for a bold finishing
touch of deep roasted garlic flavor or into my salads for an extra
crunch.
