This air fryer gnocchi recipe is the perfect way to enjoy your favorite Italian dish without all the guilt. This healthier option uses an air fryer to cook them to crispy perfection. Gnocchi can be served with any number of sauces or toppings. My favorite is to dip them in Homemade Chipotle sauce.
One of the best things about air fryer gnocchi is that it is quick and easy to make. No boiling is required. It's a healthier alternative to traditional fried foods. If you are looking for a new, delicious and healthy way to enjoy potatoes, air-fried gnocchi is a great option.
What is Gnocchi?
Gnocchi is an Italian dumpling made from potatoes, flour, and eggs. They are traditionally shaped into ovals or balls. Gnocchi is typically boiled in water and then served with a sauce. Common sauces include pesto, tomato sauce, Alfredo sauce, and Marinara. Gnocchi can also be baked or fried.
You could use the classic method of boiling the gnocchi, or you could air fry them, which brings their taste and texture to a whole new level!

- 1 Tablespoon finely grated Parmesan cheese.
Directions

- Add all the ingredients to the bowl and mix them well with the help of a food-basting brush, making sure each piece of gnocchi is coated.

Homemade Gnocchi vs. Store-bought
It is easy to make Gnocchi at home. Here’s the recipe for a simple potato, flour and egg Gnocchi. I purchased the pack of shelf-stable Gnocchi from the supermarket in the pasta aisle. The direction on the package says to boil for 2 minutes and serve with the sauce. However, in our case, no boiling is needed.
You can get Gnocchi on Amazon. They have many varieties and flavors to choose from, like Cauliflower Gnocchi, or sweet potato gnocchi.
Tips for the best Air Fryer Gnocchi
- Preheat your air fryer before adding the gnocchi. This will help ensure that the gnocchi cooks evenly. The machine that I use is Cuisinart Air Fryer Oven.
- Be sure to add enough oil to coat the gnocchi. This will help to create a crispy exterior.
- Cook the gnocchi in batches if necessary. Overcrowding the air fryer will result in soggy gnocchi.
- Serve the air fryer gnocchi with your favorite sauce or topping. I like to add a little Parmesan cheese and some freshly chopped parsley for extra flavor. Enjoy!
- Store leftover Gnocchi in the refrigerator in an air-tight container for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer. Add Gnocchi to the basket and spray with cooking spray. Reheat at 375°F/190°C for 4 minutes flipping halfway.
- Air Fryer Gnocchi is great for meal prep or to pack in your kid's lunch boxes for a healthy gluten-free snack.
- Change Gnocchi flavor. You can use Cauliflower Gnocchi or Sweet Potato Gnocchi for this recipe. Enjoy.
