Crispy golden edges, plenty of garlic butter, and a soft center. This easy air fryer garlic bread uses both fresh garlic and garlic powder, and it's ready in minutes — no need to heat up the whole oven.
8slicesFrench baguettecut ¾-inch thick (Italian bread works too, for larger, softer pieces)
4tablespoonsbuttersoftened
2clovesgarlicfinely grated or minced
¼teaspoongarlic powder
1tablespoonfresh parsleyfinely chopped, plus more for serving
1pinchsalt(especially if using unsalted butter)
Grated Parmesanfor serving (optional)
½cupshredded mozzarella(optional, for the cheesy version)
Instructions
Combine the softened butter, grated garlic, garlic powder, parsley, and salt in a small bowl. Mash everything together with a fork.
Spread the garlic butter evenly over one side of each baguette slice, reaching all the way to the edges.
Arrange the slices buttered side up in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 350°F for 5–7 minutes, checking around 4 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers are still soft. No flipping needed.
Serve warm, with a little extra parsley or Parmesan if you like.
Cheesy version: sprinkle the mozzarella over the buttered slices before air frying and cook until melted, bubbly, and just golden at the edges, 5–7 minutes.
Notes
Finely grated garlic blends into the butter better than large chopped pieces, which can brown too quickly.¾-inch slices keep the center soft while the edges turn golden; thin slices crisp too fast.Spread the butter evenly — a thick puddle leaves the middle greasy instead of crisp. Save a little for brushing on after cooking for an extra-buttery finish.Make ahead: the garlic butter keeps 2 days in the fridge; assembled uncooked slices freeze well — air fry from frozen with a few extra minutes.
