I used large peeled shrimp with tails. Each is rolled in spicy flour, then in an egg and covered with fluffy and airy panko breadcrumbs.
After frying, the shrimp are very crispy on the outside and tender juicy on the inside. Serve with your preferred shrimp sauce of your choice. I have made this recipe several times and served it with Bang Bang sauce or this delicious homemade chipotle sauce.

Air Fryer Shrimp with sweet & Spicy Bang Bang sauce and shrimp cocktails sauce
Air fryer shrimp is an excellent quick to make snack for house parties or for a movie night.

Ingredients: Fried Shrimp
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined. With the tails on.
1/2 teaspoon salt and freshly ground black pepper
3/4 cup all purpose flour
2 large eggs
1 cup panko breadcrumbs.
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika powder
Note:
For Low Carb and Keto Friendly Air fryer breaded shrimp, you can use Pork Panko and Almond flour instead
Directions
- Spray the basket of a 3.5-quart air fryer with cooking spray and set aside. Pat the shrimp dry between a couple paper towels, then season with a pinch of salt and a few grinds of black pepper.
- Whisk the flour with 1/2 teaspoon salt and few grinds of pepper and 1/2 teaspoon paprika in a shallow bowl or baking dish. Whisk the eggs with a pinch of salt in another shallow bowl. Add the panko to a third shallow bowl.
- Dip a shrimp in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess.
- Then dip in the beaten eggs.
- Dredge in the panko, turning until evenly coated. Transfer to a large plate or a rimmed baking sheet and repeat with the remaining shrimp.
- Preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees F. Working in batches, place some of the shrimp in a single layer in the fryer basket, then spray lightly with more cooking spray. Cook for 5 minutes until the shrimp are golden brown. Open your air fryer, flip the shrimp halfway through, and cook another 5 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve with your preferred shrimp sauce or try with this delicious sweet and spicy homemade Chipotle sauce.
