Red Wine Gummies Recipe

DailyYum.com
The recipe for red wine gummies is simple and requires just a few ingredients such as red wine, gelatin, and maple syrup. The optional addition of collagen can give the gummies an extra boost of health benefits. The key to achieving the perfect balance of flavors is adjusting the amount of maple syrup based on the sweetness of your wine. Once you have all your ingredients ready, simply mix them together and pour the mixture into molds to set.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz Wine 1 and ½ cup red wine. Pinot Noir, Cabernet or any red wine will work.
  • 4 Tablespoons Gelatin Unflavored gelatin such as Grass-fed Beef Gelatin or Knox gelatin.
  • 2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup 2 -3 tablespoon maple syrup , or to taste

Optional

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, warm the wine on low heat. Add the gelatin one tablespoon at a time, and stir very well before adding more. I stirred the gelatin/wine with a whisk.
  • Once the gelatin is completely dissolved (about 5 minutes) add Maple Syrup. I added 2 tablespoons of maple syrup to my batch of wine gummies. Feel free to add to your taste. take
Remove the wine from the heat and now you can add a tablespoon of collagen if you desire. Mix until dissolved. (about 1 minute). I used Collagen Peptides powder.
  • Once your mixture is smooth and well combined, pour it into silicone molds of your choice. You can use traditional gummy bear molds for a fun shape or opt for something more sophisticated like mini cubes or hearts. Place the molds in the refrigerator to set for at least 3 hours, or until the gummies are firm to the touch. Once they're ready, simply pop them out of the molds and enjoy!
For me, it was easier to use a simple glass container or a shallow pan instead of the small silicone molds (Please see picture below). You can customize the thickness of your wine jello by pouring anywhere from ¼ to ½ inch of the mixture, giving you ultimate control over your creation. Once the wine mix is set, I cut the wine jelly into 1-inch cubes.

FAQs

Does the alcohol in the wine evaporate during the cooking process?
The answer lies in the heat. It's crucial to take the mixture off the heat just before it starts boiling to ensure that the alcohol content remains intact. If the mixture boils, the alcohol will evaporate, resulting in dull, less-alcoholic or non-alcoholic gummies. So, if you're looking to add a boozy kick to your gummies, make sure to keep a watchful eye on the heat and remove the mixture just in time.
Besides red wine, what else can I use to make wine gummies?
Aside from red wine, you can experiment with using white wine, champagne, or even liquor like vodka or tequila. The possibilities are endless! Perhaps a margarita or mimosa-flavored gummy would be the perfect addition to your next brunch or cocktail party. And don't forget about non-alcoholic options like fruit juices or herbal teas for a healthier twist.
