115 oz can tomato sauce
114.5 oz can diced tomatoes
2tbsptomato paste
1cupchicken or beef broth
1–2 tbsp hot sauceto taste (Tabasco or your favorite)
2tbspavocado oil or olive oil
For serving: sour cream and shredded cheddar
Instructions
Heat the oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned, 6–8 minutes. If the turkey releases a lot of liquid, cook for another minute or two until most of it evaporates.
Add the onion, garlic, and frozen pepper-and-onion mix. Cook until softened, 4–5 minutes.
Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and broth.
Add the kidney beans, salt, black pepper, and cayenne. Stir well.
Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in hot sauce to taste. Serve hot topped with sour cream and shredded cheddar.
