Pick a Pumpkin. You’ll need a sweet sugar pumpkin (or pie pumpkin). Aim for uniform thickness 1 to 2-inch wedges. Toss them with olive or avocado oil. For seasoning, we recommend using a simple mix of salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and cinnamon. Be sure to coat the wedges evenly with the mix.
Preheat your air fryer to 375F (190°C). Once it’s ready, place the wedges in the air fryer basket. Ensure that the wedges are not overcrowded, and they have enough space to cook evenly. Yes, you can use parchment paper for an easy clean-up. Cook for 10 minutes, then carefully pull the basket out of the air fryer. Using tongs, flip the pumpkin wedges over to cook on the other side. Fry again for another 10 minutes, making sure to keep an eye on the pumpkin’s progress.

Tips for Perfect Pumpkin Wedges
Achieving the perfect air fryer roasted pumpkin wedges involves a few key tips and tricks. Here’s how to ensure your wedges come out crispy and delicious every time.
Choosing the Right Pumpkin
Opt for a small to medium-sized pumpkin, often labeled as “sugar pumpkins” or “pie pumpkins.” These varieties are sweeter and have denser, less watery flesh compared to larger carving pumpkins.
Cutting Techniques
Use a sharp knife to make the initial cut easier. After halving the pumpkin and removing the seeds, lay it flat on a cutting board for stability while slicing it into wedges. Aim for wedges about 1 to 2-inch thick to ensure they cook through without becoming mushy.
Air Fryer Temperature and Timing
Each air fryer model may vary slightly, so it’s essential to keep an eye on your pumpkin wedges as they cook. If your air fryer doesn’t have a preheat function, add a few extra minutes to the cooking time. Check for doneness by piercing a wedge with a fork; it should be tender on the inside and crispy on the outside.
