DIY Crispy Air fryer Egg rolls

  • 1 lbs. ground beef (or ground meat of your choice)
  • 1 bag pre-shredded coleslaw mix (can sub for 3 cups finely chopped cabbage and shredded carrots)
  • ¼ cup broth (beef, chicken or vegetarian)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 TBS soy sauce or to taste (Can sub for low-sodium soy sauce)
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely minced (can sub with 3 tsp garlic powder or to taste)
  • 2 TBS fresh grated ginger (can sub with 1 TBS ground ginger or to taste)
  • 1 tsp granulated onion.
  • ½ tsp pepper or to taste
  • ½ tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp Chinese five spice
  • green onions, chopped, for serving
  • 1 TBS oil for frying (I use avocado oil)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over a medium high heat.
  2. Add onions and sauté until caramelized (10 minutes)
  3. Add garlic, ginger and sauté until fragrant
  4. Add meat. Break apart until meat is browned and cooked through.
  5. Drain the fat (if any, optional)Add Five spice, other seasonings, soy sauce and stir.
  6. Add ¼ cups broth, package of coleslaw, stir lightly and cover the pan with the lid
  7. Lower the heat and cook for 15 minutes
  8. Cool down a little and then it's time to stuff the egg roll wrappers!
  9. Spoon approximately 1-2 tablespoons of filling onto each egg roll wrapper and fold according to package directions, using the beaten egg to seal the edges of the wrappers.
  10. Arrange stuffed egg rolls in the air fryer basket
  11. Air fry at 380 F for 7 minutes. Open air fryer, take the basket out and flip the egg rolls on the other side and fry for an additional 5 minutes or until golden brown
  12. Let the egg rolls cool a little.
  13. Enjoy
